Licking County Planning Commission’s (Newark, Ohio) Meeting to Discuss a Bike Path Program

Licking County Planning Commission oversees development in Licking County. Currently they are trying to coordinate bike paths projects within Licking County through a bike path program. While LCPC is not too likely to get involved with funding, the very fact that they are trying to help facilitate where these bike paths may be located, will on some level encourage local governments to build them. There are many concerns about bike paths. Some of these concerns are whether bike paths are being placed in importance on the same level as roads and bridges, whether grants, which contribute to the federal deficit, are going to be used to fund the bike paths, who is going to pay for the maintenance of the paths, will taxes need to be raised, etc. It is important before plans get move too far down the track, that these concerns be raised. If you want to be part of this conversation, please attend the  upcoming LCPC’s monthly meeting is on Tuesday February 24th at 7pm, Licking County Administration Bldg. 20 South 2nd St. in basement meeting room.

Rally Against Governor Kasich at the State of the State Speech

Portage County TEA Party, P.O. Box 253, Mogadore, OH 44260   330-474-3878

www.PortageCountyTEAParty.comAs you may already know, Governor Kasich is coming to Medina, OH this coming Monday to give his annual “State of the State” address. We recognize that many conservatives in the state do not approve of the governor’s job performance, particularly the forced implementation of Medicaide Expansion, to buy him favor with the left. We thought that some of you might like to express your displeasure, so we are going to rally outside of the Medina Performing Arts Center, where he will give his address.

His address is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. so we plan to gather outside the Performing Arts Center at 6:00 p.m. so that we can greet the governor when he   arrives. This will be the perfect opportunity to voice our concerns about the direction that Governor Kasich is taking our state.Date/Time:     Monday, February 24th at 6:00 p.m.

Location:     Medina Performing Arts Center, 851 Weymouth Road, Medina, OH 44256The Medina police are allowing us to gather on the sidewalks leading into the center. However, we must be certain to not impede any pedestrians as they     approach the building. Also, please note that there are other groups that plan to protest the governor, including the anti-fracking crowd. We must be certain to remain above the fray and not engage these other groups. Please remain professional as we let our voices be heard.

Bring appropriate signs and good spirit. I have attached some sample signs to this email along with some other information you may be intereted in. Thanks to Jeff Malek and Amy Brighton for working out the details for this event. We will see you there Monday night!Best Regards, Tom Zawistowski Executive Director
